Early Monday, a clip began floating around of a potential Floyd Mayweather x Manny Pacquiao rematch. The reported rematch was confirmed to be a hoax and Mayweather took to IG to further extinguish the rumors. "There is a video circulating that I made 8 months ago about a “MAYWEATHER - PACQUIAO” REMATCH. I got paid $2,200,000 to make the video. The truth is, the fight will never happen again. Now, swipe left and look at the money that got wired to me for the video. Now, who’s the smart one ? I’m making millions just for 10 second video drops," Floyd wrote. He also shared bank statements of the transaction to support his claim.

A video of Floyd Mayweather teasing a rematch with Manny Pacquiao has been making the rounds on social media. In the video, Mayweather can be heard saying, "It’s an honor to come to Saudi Arabia to sit down with you guys to talk about the Mayweather vs Pacquiao rematch. Saudi Arabia. Floyd 'Money’ Mayweather' I’m on my way."

Mayweather addressed the video in a statement to FightHype, stating, "The video that y’all been seeing is false because I’ve been to Saudi Arabia. I went there a long time ago. I talked to them about me fighting there, just different fights, but they wanted me to specifically say Manny Pacquiao. And actually, we didn’t just talk about boxing; we talked about different events; us bringing different events out there." 

Mayweather then addressed the possibility of a rematch against Pacquiao, "Basically, that’s an old video. At the end of the day, there’s no talks about me and Manny Pacquiao fighting a rematch. Even if we did fight, all they’re going to do is have an excuse, just like the first time. The first time, you know, he can raise his hand after the fight is over, then all of a sudden, his shoulder is messed up."

He added, "Excuse after excuse, you know what I’m saying. A real champion, you know, he takes his wins like a man and he takes his losses like a man. But as far as me and Manny Pacquiao, as of right now, it will never be a rematch."
