A California woman is suing a charter school after alleging that a bullying incident resulted in her son getting severe brain damage. The mother is alleging that school officials at Amino Westside Charter Middle School in Los Angeles didn’t do anything to stop the bullying from taking place.
The incident was caught on camera and took place in January 2018. The episode sees a young boy being stepped to by a large boy who would go on to allegedly hit the boy then put him in a chokehold. The video also shows a staff member walking by and not stepping in between the students. The complaint noted that as a result of that, the boy lost consciousness several times and suffered spine damage, PTSD, and permanent brain damage. The mother is suing for undisclosed damages.
