According to reports, the producer who made the “Choppa Style” beat—DJ JMK is suing a bunch of rappers who used bits of the track without compensating him.
JMK is saying he should have been compensated for the use of his beat but never received any money despite people making big hits from the track. Some of those people include Cardi B and City Girls, who used the track for their song “Twerk,” Yo Gotti, and more.
DJ JMK noted that all the rappers he named have “ misappropriated many of the recognizable and key protected elements" of the beat he made, and he is suing them for copyright infringement.
