Former Vice President and Democratic nominee hopeful Joe Biden has seen his polling numbers plummet seemingly after every public appearance. This time is no different. Biden appeared at an event for the Asian and Latino Coalition when the former VP tried making the point to the audience that poor children are just as capable as their more well-off counterparts.
However, their well-off counterparts are white kids, in general, according to Biden. “We have this notion that somehow if you’re poor, you cannot do it. Poor kids are just as bright and just as talented as white kids.” Biden quickly corrected himself and said, “Wealthy kids. Black kids. Asian kids. No, I really mean it. But think how we think about it.” Biden's initial take was meant to be a class-related comment but Biden's Freudian slip drew immediate backlash.
Rihanna called out Biden on the remark, writing on IG: "Whoa! And he's convinced he said something great here! Even when they fake it, the truth about how they feel about us is blatant."
