In light of new concerning the poor conditions of the Swedish facility that A$AP Rocky is being detained in, the U.S. State Department released a statement on the situation.

The statement read, "There are certainly some facts about the arrest and detention that raise concerns. We expect all governments, including Sweden, to treat American citizens fairly and with respect. We hope to see A$AP Rocky and his colleagues back on tour and reunited with friends and family soon."

Rocky has been detained after being arrested on July 2 on suspicion of assault, along with three other people. Footage surfaced of Rocky and his crew getting into an altercation with two men that were following them around after one of them hit the rapper's bodyguard. Swedish prosecutors have until Friday (July 19) to decide if they will prosecute Rocky, or if they will ask the court to keep him detained while they continue to investigate.
