The Los Angeles Angels announced that 27-year-old pitcher Tyler Skaggs has passed away. The team released a statement, which read, "It is with great sorrow that we report Tyler Skaggs passed away earlier today in Texas. Tyler has, and always will be, an important part of the Angels Family. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Carli and his entire family during this devastating time."
Southlake Police Department revealed that Skaggs was found unresponsive in his hotel room at 2:18 pm, explaining, "Officers arrived and found the male unresponsive and he was pronounced deceased at the scene."
An investigation is ongoing, but no foul play is suspected.
