Kyrie Irving to the Brooklyn Nets is essentially a done deal according to multiple reports over the course of the last two weeks. However, things may not be the formality hoop fans took this situation to. According to the New York Post's Brian Lewis, the Nets are poised to sign Irving as part of a package with Kevin Durant. However, Durant's injury has many believing he could remain in Golden State and if he does leave The Bay then the Nets' Manhattan neighbors, the New York Knicks would be his preferred destination.

This has Brooklyn rethinking whether or not it would be smart to sign Irving if there isn't a guarantee that KD signs alongside him. Kyrie to the Nets seemed like a sure thing just a week ago but if Brooklyn decides to renege, it's no telling the impact that decision will have on the balance of power in the league.
