A group of Alaskan teens are being accused of killing a 19-year-old developmentally challenged woman after one of them was promised $9 million to carry out the act by a man that was catfishing her from Indiana.

19-year-old Cynthia Hoffman was bound by the hands and feet and shot in the back of the head when she was found on June 4. Authorities believe 18-year-old Denali Brehmer and 4 other teenagers carried out the crime after Brehmer was promised $9 million to kill a person and provide evidence by 21-year-old Indiana man named Darin Schilmiller. The man was catfishing Brehmer under the name Tyler, and his scheme was revealed after Schilmiller backed out of the deal and threatened to go to the police, according to texts between the two.

Brehmer, Schilmiller, and 16-year-old Kayden McIntosh have been indicted on murder and conspiracy charges. Schilmiller is being extradited to Alaska to face the charges.
