The release of Ava Duvernay’s mini-series ‘When They See Us’ found many upset at how the events of the Central Park 5 played out. Five innocent black teenagers were accused and coerced into confessing to crimes they did not commit involving robbery, assault, rape, and more. The person reportedly behind the situation was former prosecutor-turned-author Linda Fairstein. The woman was the head of the sex crimes unit at the Manhattan District Attorney’s office from 1976 to 2002.

This information was revealed in the mini-series, and many people who watched the series took to social media to give Fairstein a piece of their mind, with many saying the woman should be in jail. Since then, Fairstein has deleted most of her social media accounts.
