As the animosity between Meek Mill and Judge Genece Brinkley has long been documented, the rapper appears to have scored a legal victory today as the Philadelphia DA has called out Brinkley for her apparent bias while presiding over the case.

Sure enough, District Attorney Larry Krasner has accused Brinkley of "abusing her discretion" in a set of court documents filed today in Pennsylvania Superior Court, following the judge's previous decision to sentence Meek to 2-4 years for violating his probation.

In the documents, Krasner agrees with the Philly rappers' critiques of Brinkley's integrity, writing that "the public perception of unfairness and bias is exactly what the court’s behavior has engendered here." As a prime example, Krasner notes an occasion when Brinkley "checked up" on Meek when he was doing community service at a homeless shelter, ultimately criticizing him for bagging clothes for the homeless instead of serving them food.

"Here, instead of asking a probation officer to visit the shelter to assess Williams’ compliance with the court’s community service requirement," Krasner said of that moment, "Judge Brinkley personally assumed the role of investigator. No evidence suggests that the judge routinely made this type of unannounced personal visit to monitor her other probationers."

In conclusion, the DA also determined that Meek should be granted a new trial, adding that "for the above-stated reasons, Appellant [Robert] Williams should be awarded a post-conviction relief in the form of a new trial. In the alternative, his recusal motion should be granted and this matter should be remanded for a violation of probation hearing before a new judge."

Meanwhile, it should also be noted that recently Philadelphia 76ers owner Michael Rubin stated that Brinkley cost Meek a $450,000 check for a performance in Abu Dhabi, following her inability to meet the deadline to respond to his request.
