While Alabama grabbed the title as the most repression state in terms of abortions after passing a ban on the procedure for practically any reason except imminent death of the mother. Prison time can follow, especially for the doctors performing abortions in the state. While not as draconian in their deeper South counterpart, Missouri has proposed a bill to ban abortions at 8 weeks of a fetal heartbeat.

The GOP-led Missouri House of Representatives is likely to pass the controversial legislation with the conservative governor, Mike Parson, likely to sign it into law. Missouri would join Kentucky, Missississippi, Georgia, and Alabama as the states which have already approved fetal-heartbeat abortion bans. However, those states implement the ban at 6 weeks. Missouri is courteous enough to give women 2 extra weeks.
