Kyler Murray recently decided to join the NFL over the MLB after being the number one NFL draft pick. Along with that, the signing bonus he received to join the Arizona Cardinals— $23.6 million, may have played a part in him playing football instead of baseball.

According to reports, the Oakland A’s gave Murray a signing bonus of $4.66 million and an additional $14 million to keep him from considering the NFL. However, the contract issued by the Arizona Cardinals along with a $23.6 million signing bonus mostly decided for him.

Murray’s overall deal is a 4-year situation which includes a guaranteed $35.1 million.
