One of the major big pharma companies has reached a deal with the Trump White House to donate HIV prevention medication. The deal ends in 2025 but could be renewed for up to 2030. Gilead will donate the medication Truvada which reduces the risk of contracting HIV in up to 200,000 people a year.
Trump tweeted Thursday evening: "Great news today: My Administration just secured a historic donation of HIV prevention drugs from Gilead to help expand access to PrEP for the uninsured and those at risk. Will help us achieve our goal of ending the HIV epidemic in America!"
