Battle rapper Tech 9, who died last month, was to be arraigned on child porn charges the day after his unexpected death on March 24. The 32-year-old rapper, born Akhiym Mickens, was arrested on January 5th in Philadelphia and charged with possession of child pornography, indecent assault, indecent exposure and corruption of minors, in addition to other offenses.
According to Phillymag.com, an affidavit of probable cause revealed that the complainant is the daughter of a woman that Mickens was dating. The unnamed girl claimed that Mickens repeatedly demanded that she undress in front of him, and the girl claimed that he masturbated in front of her. She also claimed that Mickens entered her room with a knife and tried to force her to touch his penis.
Following his death, Mickens' father raised nearly $30,000 on GoFundMe for funeral expenses. His funeral is scheduled for Thursday (April 4).
