The release of ‘Leaving Neverland’ found many people taking different sides in the Michael Jackson saga, and now, the director of the documentary—Dan Reed is admitting there may have been holes in accusations made by accuser James Safechuck.

A biographer for Jackson—Mike Smallcombe shared evidence via Twitter showing that Safechuck’s timeline about MJ’s alleged abuse against him was off. The abuser said MJ abused him in an upstairs room at the Neverland Ranch’s train station. However, Smallcombe revealed the station was built two years after Smallcombe noted the abuse ended.

From there, Dan Reed replied to the tweet and said “Yeah, there seems to be no doubt about the station date. The date they have wrong is the end of the abuse."

Smallcombe issued a statement to The Mirror UK, saying “Because the story has been debunked, it appears Reed is now suddenly wanting to change Safechuck’s timeline himself. Firstly, I’m shocked that he’s spoken on Safechuck’s behalf. And secondly, it’s embarrassing that he feels he has to now change the narrative of the film – which is that the alleged abuse stopped in 1992 – all because part of it has been disproved."
