Flopping is, unfortunately, an integral part of the game of basketball as we know it today. The way players flop in order to draw fouls has become somewhat of an art form if not a science. That was on display during the Sweet 16 matchup between the Oregon Ducks and the Virginia Cavaliers. Early in the second half, Oregon's Ehab Amin got entangled with Virginia's Mamadi Diakite trying to wrestle the ball away from one another. Diakite was able to manage possession but not before tempers flared, causing the UVA big man to get in Amin's face. But instead of falling into a potential double-technical situation, Amin falls to the ground in one of the most blatant flops in recent memory.
Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame finalist, Chris Webber was calling the game and said it was a smart play but it's definitely a play that is very unbecoming yet emblematic of the game today.
