According to TMZ, famed entertainer Monica has filed for divorce earlier this month from her husband of eight years, former NBA player Shannon Brown. The two are parents of a 5-year-old daughter named Laiyah, and Monica has two children from her previous relationship with Rocko.
There was speculation that the couple had split at the end of 2018 after she was seen not wearing her wedding ring on Instagram, but Monica quelled rumors by posting up a loved up of her and Shannon. She then shared a cryptic message on February 28, which read, "Real friends you can lean on. Associates are met in passing, Friends are meant to be forever … Loyalty over Everything … Family Before Anything."
