The Police Union in Chicago is reportedly calling for a federal investigation into the actions taken by the Cook County State Attorney—Kim Foxx in regards to Jussie Smollett’s case.

Criminal charges against Jussie Smollett were recently dropped, and Smollett will not be prosecuted. The actor was facing 16 felony counts of lying to police. Now, the police want a probe into State Attorney Kim Foxx after she previously recused herself from the case without reason. According to reports, Foxx was contacted by an attorney linked to Smollett’s family who allegedly said they had some concerns about the investigation. From there, Foxx asked the Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson to stop the investigation and turn it over the FBI.

The Chicago Police Union feels Foxx may have broken the law once she asked to have the FBI move forward with the investigation.
