While the Luke Walton era grinds to a halt, the rumor mill is already working overtime to churn out names to fill the Lakers upcoming coaching vacancy. The latest name to enter the conversation is future Hall of Famer Jason Kidd who was a coach on the floor while playing and someone who's had their stints on the sideline as well.

Kidd spoke about the opportunity on ESPN's The Jump on Monday and stated,

"I think when you look at the Lakers as a whole, it's a franchise that is one of the best in the world—not just in the NBA, but in the world, [...] And so, if you ever have the opportunity to wear the purple and gold, you can't turn that down—as a coach, as a player—because they're all about championships."

He also touched on what coaching LeBron would be like and his views on seeing Giannis Antetokounmpo develop into arguably the best player in the NBA today.
