Lupe Fiasco called out Atlantic Records, his former label, revealing that they had ghostwriters and songs with full verses ready for him when they were putting together an album.

He stated, "They would have a team of writers, a team of producers, waiting for you. So, once you go through the meeting, they strip away all your esteem, they strip away all your own confidence and your own work. They send you right to the studio with the hot producer of the time with the creative team and the writers, and they got whole songs waiting on you."

Lupe went on to say that ghostwriters would call him and ask to write all of his verses. He pointed out that artists in this situation are performing someone else's song, so they aren't really getting paid off of it, which you can hear more about above.
