T.I. called out the criminal justice system for the felony charges 12-year-old rapper Lil C Note is facing after he was suspected of loitering inside a Cumberland, Georgia mall back in October. Video of Lil C Note being approached by an officer and being told that he was "going to jail" went viral, and the young boy's aunt called out the officer for grabbing him.
Lil C Note's attorney, Mawuli Davis, said in court last month, "When he was there, he was not selling any CDs or doing anything that would have been prohibited. He was there meeting other artists."
T.I. reacted to the news by comparing Lil C Note's case and that of Minneapolis daycare worker Nataliia Karia, who got 10-years probation for hanging a toddler. The Atlanta rapper wrote on Instagram, "Give a 12 year old prison time for selling CDs And a middle aged witch probation for hanging a baby?!?!?! #ThisISAmerica #USorELSE."
Earlier this year, T.I. spoke on the situation, stating, "Me, I tell it like it is. Basically, it's our black kids getting picked on. You know if that was a white kid, nothing would've ever happened."
