After detectives presented evidence to the Cook County Grand Jury, Jussie Smollett was indicted for making a false police report on Wednesday (February 20). 

Chicago Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi tweeted, "Case Update: Jussie Smollett is now officially classified as a suspect in a criminal investigation by #ChicagoPolice for filing a false police report (Class 4 felony). Detectives are currently presenting evidence before a Cook County Grand Jury."

Chicago Police have revealed that Jussie Smollett is "officially classified as a suspect in a criminal investigation ... for filing a false police report." Detectives are gathering evidence to present to a Cook County Grand Jury, according to TMZ, and he's facing a three-year maximum sentence for the felony charges.
