To celebrate the 10th iteration of the Galaxy smartphone, Samsung is releasing several Galaxy S10 models with new state-of-the-art technology. Set to be released in early March, the Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+, and the Galaxy S10e will hit stores with a variety of new features, including what's been said to be the "most advanced embedded fingerprint scanning method" to date.
Additionally, the S10 and S10+ models will have 6.1-inch and 6.4-inch screens respectively, as Samsung continues to look to provide the most screen possible while still allowing the phone to be held in your hand. The models have considerably larger screens than the S9 and S9+, while only having slightly larger dimensions overall.
Other new features are what's being introduced as the "Infinity-O" display for the front cameras, as well as the aforementioned ultrasonic fingerprint scanners, that is said to be more reliable and harder to spoof than previous models. One downside, however, is that the new fingerprint scanner won't work through thick screen protectors, thus Samsung is certifying third-party screen protectors that have been tested to work with the S10.
In terms of pricing, the S10 is starting at $899.99, the S10+ will be $999.99, while the smaller, more compact, S10e will be priced at $749.99. The three models will be available for preorder starting tomorrow (Feb. 21), while an even larger edition known as the Galaxy S10 5G will be available later in the year.
Additionally, Samsung has also announced the upcoming release of the Galaxy Fold, a 4.6 inch-smartphone that can open up into a 7.3-inch tablet, that's expected to be in stores by late April.
