23-year-old Laforest Gray live-streamed his shootout with police after a dispute between him and his wife. According to reports, Gray's wife, Rachel Gray, was seen walking around their apartment complex and "looked like she was in distress" said one witness. Apparently, Rachel Gray asked a neighbor for help as she hopped in his backseat attempting to hide from her husband. Witnesses say Gray chased the car down and dragged his wife out of the backseat by the hair which resulted in one witness calling 911.

After police arrived, Gray began to live-stream the interaction. As things escalated, Gray said to his viewers, “You’ll finna see this [expletive] live, bro. …I’ll take one for the team, yo.” Authorities say that Gray fired the first shot in the melee but luckily no one was injured. He was later taken into police custody and has been charged with four counts of attempted first-degree murder of a law enforcement officer with a firearm and one count each of resisting an officer with violence, burglary of a conveyance with battery and domestic violence battery.
