As reported by CNN, prosecutors investigating R. Kelly have been handed over a recently unearthed sex tape of the singer from an unknown date, in which Kelly is seen having sexual relations with a woman he describes as a 14-year-old girl. CNN has apparently seen the VHS tape that was handed over by lawyer, Michael Avenatti, who is said to be representing a whistleblower against Kelly.
"My client knows the identity of the girl and R. Kelly," Avenatti said in a statement, "He identified the two of them on the videotape. He worked for and has known R. Kelly for decades and he met the girl on a number of occasions."
Meanwhile, the video is said to be over 42 minutes long, and it supposedly shows Kelly clearly engaged in similar acts that he was accused of in the infamous sex tape from 2002. Although it's impossible to know the woman's exact age from the recording, they apparently both refer to her private area as "14-year-old p****," while later he supposedly urinates on her as well.
In defense of Kelly, his lawyer has said he has not heard of these developments, stating: "We have not been contacted by anyone. We have not been informed about any new information by anyone and we have not been contacted by law enforcement." Elsewhere, the chief communications officer for the State's Attorney's Office said: "We cannot confirm or deny an investigation," while many are speculating that an arrest would seem imminent.
