According to TMZ, Mystikal, real name Michael Tyler, was released from prison on $3 million bond that was a combination of an advance from a record company and money from his family and friends. The famed entertainer has spent the last 18 months in prison on first-degree rape and second-degree kidnapping charges. He is now awaiting his trial starting in May.

Tim Yazbeck, Mystikal's attorney, commented on his release, telling TMZ, "It's been a long time coming for Mike, but now he can get back to being the artist he is, doing what he loves, and seeing his kids again."

His other lawyer, Joel Pearce, spoke on Mystikal's case, stating, "Based on all of the evidence we have, we strongly believe that an amicable resolution is not only possible but probable as an outcome in this case and that Michael Tyler will never be made to return to jail for a crime he didn't commit."
