Gucci recently faced backlash for releasing a sweater that resembled racist blackface imagery. The backlash was so heavy that it resulted in the brand issuing an apology along with the CEO of Gucci planning a meet-up with designer Dapper Dan. Now, Katy Perry’s shoe brand is under fire for releasing a loafer that resembles blackface. According to reports, the shoe is set to be pulled from stores.

Sources connected to the singer say the shoes are a part of a line Perry designed and released, and that the intent was never for the shoe to be offensive to anyone. The source went to say “In order to be respectful and sensitive the team is in the process of pulling the shoes.”
