The pool for Democratic nominee for the President of the United States is increasingly getting deeper. After announcements from the likes of Sen. Kamala Harris, Sen. Elizabeth Warren, for HUD leader Julian Castro, Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, and a likely run from Sen. Bernie Sanders you can now add Sen. Cory Booker to the mix now. The former mayor of Newark and New Jersey senator made the announcement early Friday morning with his official campaign ad.

"The history of our nation is defined by collective action; by interwoven destinies of slaves and abolitionists; of those born here and those who chose America as home; of those who took up arms to defend our country, and those who linked arms to challenge and change it," Booker narrates. In similar fashion to Kamala Harris using MLK Day to launch her campaign, Booker is using the first day of Black History Month to stake his claim in the 2020 race.
