Music streaming app Spotify is preparing to release an option which will allow users to mute and block certain artists, which will be featured in their latest iOS app. Once the user enables the feature, those artists will not show up in their library, radio, playlists, or chart lists.
This comes amid pressure for the streaming app to block R. Kelly's music following the controversial Lifetime docu-series "Surviving R. Kelly," which focused on allegations that the singer abused underage girls. Spotify removed Kelly's music from curated playlists before the docu-series, but his music was still available to stream.
