According to TMZ, Aretha Franklin was the victim of theft just prior to her passing this past August. Authorities say Aretha's funds were being inappropriately used while she was still alive and police are currently investigating the matter.
Although it is unclear just how much money was siphoned from Aretha's account but since her passing the IRS has been looking for her estate to cover the $6.3 million in back taxes.
