In a previous interview with Rolling Stone, Chance the Rapper said: “Maybe I didn’t care because I didn’t value the accusers’ stories because they were black women.” That statement came before he said he regretted working with R. Kelly in hindsight.

Now, Chance has taken to Twitter to address the comments from the interview, which he says was taken out of context. Chance said “The quote was taken out of context, but the truth is any of us who ever ignored the R Kelly stories, or believed he was being set up/attacked by the system (as black men often are were doing so at the detriment of black women and girls. I apologise to all of his survivors for working with him and for taking this long to speak out."

This comes after Chance The Rapper made an appearance in the Lifetime docu-series 'Surviving R. Kelly.'
