Update 01/05/2019:

A video surfaced a few days ago showing a white man yelling at a young black woman who was working at a Florida McDonald’s over straws and condiments. The white man grabbed the young woman which led to her grabbing him as well and hitting him multiple times to defend herself. Now, the young woman—Yasmine James has plans on suing McDonald's.

James spoke about the fight in-depth, she didn’t understand the man’s intentions behind grabbing her. She also noted she had to dial 911 herself after the incident because the manager didn’t know what to do. McDonald's did not fire the woman and welcomed her back, but she doesn’t feel safe.

Update 01/03/2019:

The man in the viral video showing him attempting to violently pull a female McDonald's employee over the counter during a dispute over straws has been arrested on two counts of simple battery.

According to witnesses, the dispute began over the man, Daniel Taylor's, inability to find straws by the condiments. The employee told Taylor that straws were prohibited from being placed out near the condiments and that he could only get one after requesting one from an employee behind the counter. 

After jawing back-and-forth over the new policy, things turned physical. According to authorities, Taylor continued hurling profanities even after the incident was over and he had been asked to leave. Upon leaving, however, cops say Taylor kicked another employee who was close to the door. 

Police arrested Taylor after receiving a call about another incident nearby and recognized him from the video. 

Original 01/02/2019:

A verbal exchange escalated at a St. Petersburg, FL area McDonald's between a white male customer who attacked a Black female employee. There is little contextual information available at the time, but the video picks up with the man lunging at the worker before she fights back. 

The man can be heard on the recording stating that “I want her ass fired right now,” and  “I was just asking you a fuc*ing question, bitch,” before threatening to call the police.
