While the 91st Academy Awards is still set to air on February 24th without any announcement of a host, the world is still fixated on the public fallout between the Academy and the host that should have been. Recently, Kevin Hart joined The Ellen Show to elaborate on his decision to withdraw his name as the host of the industry's most iconic ceremony, once more reiterating that the controversy surrounded older tweets that he had already apologized for.

"My first thought was I'm going to ignore it," Hart said in reference to the public backlash he received, "I'm going to ignore it because it's 10 years old. This is stuff I've addressed. I've talked about this. I've apologized for it."

Hart continued to say, "I'm not going to pay it any mind because if you feed into that stuff, you only add more fuel to the fire, but now a day goes by and the fuel is now growing, this fire's angry, it's all over the place and now the headlines are starting to change, the headlines are Kevin Hart refuses to apologize for homophobic tweets from the past... the word 'again' was left out.

Making himself clear, Hart expressed to DeGeneres his disappointment over the false narrative, stating that "now the slander on my name is all homophobia, and now I'm a little upset."

Degeneres, who is one of the most notable public figures within LGBTQ community, appeared to be content with Hart's interpretation of the events, and publicly took to social media to give the actor her endorsement.

"I believe in forgiveness. I believe in second chances. And I believe in @KevinHart4real," DeGeneres wrote to her millions of followers, as meanwhile, all advertisements and promotions for the Oscars continue to not make any mention of a host.
