R. Kelly's lawyer sent a legal letter to Lifetime network, warning them to pull their upcoming "Surviving R. Kelly" documentary before it airs. His legal team claims that the documentary is filled with false information and they threatened to file a federal lawsuit if it airs.

The documentary features interviews from various people linked to R. Kelly, including his ex-wife and alleged former lovers, who claim that Kelly has abused women over the years. The "Ignition" singer responded to the claims, saying that the women are lying in order to be famous. Kelly added that he has proof that "some of the girls are lying, but that the budget was too high to turn back now."
