Following tributes paid to hip-hop legends Big Pun, EPMD, The Outlawz, Sugar Hill Records, and others in the past, Ewing Athletics has decided to extend that honor to UGK's own Pimp C.
The sneakers are iterations of the current 33 Hi and Rogue models, that will remain limited editions with only 400 pairs made. In terms of their design, the 33 Hi has a white maroon colorway with gold highlights and a classic gum outsole, while the Rogue is predominately maroon crocodile leather with a gold Texas emblem on the tongue.
To elaborate on their look, Pimp C's wife, Chinara Butler, said in a statement that "I wanted the shoes to be unique. Chad loved custom sneakers that included unique elements like fur, alligator skin, and snakeskin. My goal for both pairs was to offer fans an opportunity to own a pair of sneakers derived from shoes he actually owned.”
The two Pimp C inspired sneakers can be purchased at Houston boutique 'Eight One,' or directly at EwingAthletics.com for $140 at retail price.
