In 2014, Travis Scott made an appearance on Hot 97 where he spoke to Ebro and Peter Rosenberg about the Mike Brown incident in St. Louis, and also gave his thoughts on black people overall.
Scott was asked to give his thoughts on the Ferguson incident and responded “I'm kind of angry, so many black people are acting like fake activists...I’m not saying he deserved to get killed. But I’m not saying that he didn’t deserve to pay for consequences he probably inflicted.”
From there, the rapper said, “And I know we’re like ‘fed up’ quote/un-quote, with whatever is going on in culture...but at the same time, you gotta just stop putting yourself in positions where you’re continuously having this situation go down.”
This video re-surfaced after reports of Scott agreeing to perform in the Super Bowl with Maroon 5.
