Now that Cardi B is Grammy-nominated she's likely to gain the attention of a much wider audience, therefore, it's no surprise that one of hip hop's most notable stars has landed an exclusive interview with CBS Sunday Morning.

In the interview, Cardi reflects on her humble beginnings growing up in the South Bronx and Washington Heights, a rebellious time period for the singer that involved becoming a member of the Bloods by the age of 16.

Cardi then takes CBS to her first job at a local market, where she was eventually fired for her chronic lateness. Her former manager, however, was the one who gave her the idea to try out at a nearby strip club, where Cardi proclaims "she was hired on the spot."

Later in the interview, Cardi gives CBS a tour of her former strip club, Satin Dolls, in Manhattan, and even points out that her locker used to be #10. "I'm glad for this chapter in my life," Cardi says with confidence, "a lot of people always make fun of me, but I don't ever regret it."

When asked why she believed it to be such a positive experience, Cardi simply referred to the money. "My biggest ambition was money, and that's what these women put in my head. Nothing was more important than the money." Money that she eventually used to finance the start of her music career.
