A 7.0 earthquake struck near Anchorage, Alaska, on Friday (November 30) morning, which crumbled roads, damaged buildings, and sent residents running for cover. A tsunami warning was also issued, which was later canceled. 

Anchorage Mayor Ethan Berkowitz commented on the moments leading up to the earthquake, stating, "It was very loud when it came. It was very clear that this was something bigger than what we normally experience. We live in earthquake country so folks ... but this was a big one."
