According to a report, a doctor killed in the Mercy Hospital shooting in Chicago was the ex-fiancé of the gunman, Juan Lopez.
Lopez and Tamara O’Neal reportedly had an argument outside of the hospital before the shooting took place. According to the Chicago Tribune, O’Neal broke off her engagement to Lopez, which led him to go to the hospital and demand she give the ring back. Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said an argument occurred which made caused things to escalate.

According to multiple reports, a gunman opened fire inside Mercy Hospital in Chicago wounding many including an officer who is in critical condition and a nurse was left dead. Police immediately searched the hospital and secured the facility stating that at least one "possible offender is shot," according to police spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi.
