Toronto Has Their Deadliest Year Since 1991, 89 Murders in 2018

According to a report, Toronto has been experiencing their deadliest year in the city, as the death toll from gun violence rose to 89.

As a result of the latest death, Toronto has now tied the 1991 record for most murders in a city in a year. A 22-year-old man named Yohannes Brhanu lost his life this past Wednesday (Nov. 14), which resulted in the death toll rise.

Toronto Mayor John Tory has reportedly asked for a ban on handguns and ammunition in Toronto, which has been back by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
