In video footage that recently surfaced, Soulja Boy talked about his influence on hip hop in the last few years, mainly speaking on trends that he feels he sparked. One of those trends included carrying a camera everywhere to document what was going on in his day-to-day life.
The rapper went on to point out the backlash he received from his peers, who called him "the police" for carrying a camera everywhere. Soulja noted that now, everyone does it and it has become a part of the blueprint for artists.
