The late globally renowned physicist Stephen Hawking makes a few bold declarations in his new posthumously released book, one stating that there is no God. For some that may not be such a bold claim but Hawking explains, "For centuries, it was believed that disabled people like me were living under a curse that was inflicted by God," adding, "I prefer to think that everything can be explained another way, by the laws of nature."

Aside from his disbelief in there being a God, Hawking also spoke about his belief in other life forms beyond Earth. "There are forms of intelligent life out there," writes Hawking. "We need to be wary of answering back until we have developed a bit further."

Hawking also ruminated over time travel, writing: "Travel back in time can't be ruled out according to our present understanding, [...] within the next hundred years we will be able to travel to anywhere in the Solar System."

The physicist's final message answered what humans should do to shape the future, "Remember to look up at the stars and not down at your feet."
