After being hit with a point penalty for smashing her racket, a move that would ultimately cost her the US Open match against opponent Naomi Osaka, Serena Williams got into a dispute with the match umpire, saying he gave her penalty because she was a woman.
Williams went on to say “There’s men out here who do a lot worse. But because I’m a woman, because I’m a woman, you’re gonna take this away from me? That is not right.”
