According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sony is currently working on an Ol' Dirty Bastard biopic with RZA leading the production of the project. An ODB film has been rumored for quite some time with the prospects of the movie coming to fruition after the blockbuster N.W.A. biopic, Straight Outta Compton. RZA told Rolling Stone back in 2016, "Straight Outta Compton showed that with the proper team and marketing, many of us out here who grew up on this music would love to see the inside makings of those stories.”
Sources close to the situation say that the studio is currently searching for a director. In addition to ODB getting a biopic, The Hollywood Reporter has also confirmed that Imagine and Paramount Players are currently developing a Gucci Mane biopic.
