News broke in Union City, California that an elderly Sikh man was attacked by two teenagers in a city that was almost 60 miles away. However, when Police Chief Darryl McAllister revealed who the suspects were, he pointed out that one of them was his son.

McAllister delivered a post via Facebook where he described the scenario, saying he was “embarrassed” by the situation.

McAllister said “Words can barely describe how embarrassed, dejected, and hurt my wife, daughters, and I feel right now. My stomach has been churning from the moment I learned this news. Even though my status as a law enforcement leader has no bearing or relation to the case whatsoever, I am nonetheless devastated by how much the nature of my son’s actions are such a departure from everything I have stood for in my personal life, and in my 37-year policing career.”

Suspects Tyrone McAllister and another suspect who is 16-years-old were taken in by police this past Wednesday for the attack on the Sikh man in Manteca, California.
