According to The Daily Beast, sources have confirmed that Omarosa Manigault-Newman secretly recorded conversations she had with Donald Trump while at the White House. She apparently used those recordings as leverage while shopping around her tell-all for publishing.
Although some sources have described the "Omarosa tapes" as pretty innocuous small talk or daily chatter nothing damaging seems to be associated with the recordings. The publisher that took on Omarosa's project, Simon & Schuster, commented on the matter without confirming the existence of the tapes. “Without commenting on the specific contents of UNHINGED, [...] we are confident that Omarosa Manigault Newman can substantiate her highly-anticipated account of life inside the Trump White House.”
The White House declined to comment on the matter.
