A 22-year-old university student who was involved in a controversial "politically incorrect" college party themed around Nazi uniforms, Ku Klux Klan regalia, and blackface was found dead in his home in Wagga Wagga, Australia.

Andrew Stanham was a student at Charles Sturt University and was one of the students pictured attending the racist party turned online scandal. The Charles Sturt student died of an apparent seizure which Stanham's parents believe is a result of the backlash from the photos going viral.

"There is no doubt that stress is a contributing factor," said Stanham's father. He said that his son was afraid to walk down the street after the scandal. One of the photos that went viral pictured a group of five dressed as Ku Klux Klan members with another in blackface. The photo was captioned: “Very very politically incorrect. Cotton prices are unreal thought so it’s a great time to be pickin’.”

Stanham was suspended for his participation in the event as well as his friend Taz Kuhn who, unlike his family, didn't want to attribute the fallout of the party to his untimely passing. Kuhn said that no one is “jumping to any conclusions” about the backlash and the impact that had on Stanham but said:

“Andy was a kid who lived life to its fullest whether it was being a key player on the rugby field, or the life of the party but he would always have the time for his mates and family and that’s what would come first."
