Update: Floyd Mayweather took to Instagram following the news of his most recent financial distinction from Forbes. Floyd shared a graphic showing him atop of the highest-paid celebrity list with the caption:

First off, I would like to thank @Forbes for acknowledging my financial achievements throughout the many years of my career. This year, it's even more of an honor to be at the very top of the #Celebrity100 list not just as an athlete but as an overall entertainer and celebrity! It's certainly a blessing, especially as a retired boxer to land on the #1 spot of one the most prestigious list of our times. Being commemorated once again is a testament to the dedication and focus that I've put into my craft and my devotion to staying in my own lane, determined to be the very best at what I do. Congratulations to all 99 of the other celebrities that have accomplished their goals and earned their spot on this list as well.
Together, We Are All Part of THE MONEY TEAM! Here's to another great year!

Floyd Mayweather topped the Forbes Top 100 Highest Paid Entertainers list with $285 million pre-tax earned. Mayweather made nearly $50 million more than George Clooney, who took the second spot with $239 million earned, thanks to the tequila company he co-founded, Casamigos, being bought by Diageo. Kylie Jenner, who debuted on the list at number 59 last year, took the third spot with $166.5 million earned.

Mayweather's massive earnings were thanks partly to his 2017 fight against Conor McGregor. The fight generated more than $550 million in revenue, allowing Mayweather to top Forbes' annual list for the second time since 2015.

1) Floyd Mayweather $285 million
