Update: The shooter who killed five people at the Capital Gazette building in Annapolis, Maryland on Thursday has been identified as Jarrod Ramos, 38.
Records show that Ramos sued the Gazette in 2012 for defamation after one of their publications ran a story about Ramos harassing a woman for months and trying to get her fired from her job. A judge dropped the case, stating that "there is absolutely not one piece of evidence, or an assertion by you that the statement [in the article] was false."

At least five people are dead and several others were injured after a gunman opened fire at the Capital Gazette building in Annapolis, Maryland on Thursday (June 28).
Capital Gazette police reporter Phil Davis tweeted the events after being led to safety. He wrote, "A single shooter shot multiple people at my office, some of whom are dead. Gunman shot through the glass door to the office and opened fire on multiple employees. Can't say much more and don't want to declare anyone dead, but it's bad. There is nothing more terrifying than hearing multiple people get shot while you're under your desk and then hear the gunman reload."
A white male has been taken into custody and interviewed while police are searching for a motive in the attack.
