Sammy Sosa Addresses Skin Bleaching Rumors: I Do Whatever I Want

In a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, Sammy Sosa addressed people criticizing his lighter skin tone.

While photos of a lighter-toned Sosa have spread across the internet in a viral manner, the former baseball superstar isn't worried about his critics. He told SI, “Look at what I am today. This is my life, and I don’t take garbage from nobody. I do whatever I want.”

When fans first started noticing Sosa's change in appearance, he addressed the situation with Univision in 2009. He told them, "It’s a bleaching cream that I apply before going to bed and whitens my skin tone. It’s a cream that I have, that I use to soften [my skin], but has bleached me some. I’m not a racist, I live my life happily."
